Lupfig, January 16, 2020 – More and more companies no longer run their existing IT infrastructure themselves as they want to operate more quickly within the market and keep project costs down. A hybrid IT infrastructure which boasts the advantages of a private cloud coupled with those of a public cloud is proving to be the ideal approach. As a jointly-developed solution, Green Datacenter AG and the IT systems integrator Bechtle Schweiz AG are now offering the Swiss Cube. It can either be used as a private cloud or run as a dedicated IT infrastructure. The cornerstone of the Swiss Cube comprises housing in certified Swiss data centers and managed hardware and software. Thanks to Swiss Cube, companies are given the ideal platform for starting their cloud transformation on secure systems provided exclusively for them.
Green Datacenter and Bechtle have pooled their expertise in operating data centers and hardware to create the Swiss Cube, with the aim of giving impetus to the transformation of corporate IT. “With the new offering, we want to enable companies to start on their journey to the cloud step by step,” affirmed Roger Süess, CEO of Green Datacenter, adding, “The Swiss Cube is one element of an entire cloud ecosystem that we are setting up in our Green data centers.” It has been designed to enable companies to switch more easily between different provision models in the future and to facilitate access to a network of partners with specialist services. This ecosystem also gives the partners added value as they can implement their solutions based upon it. “We thus bring together housing, the private cloud and the public cloud under one roof and allow all partners access to the ecosystem,” explained Roger Süess.
The Swiss Cube can be set up for traditional applications or as a private cloud. Every application can therefore be run on the Swiss Cube – from standardized ERP systems to industry-specific solutions. “Companies replace their own systems with a Swiss Cube and, as a new feature, they purchase a single service that covers the entire operation,” Christian Speck, Managing Director of Bechtle Schweiz AG, explained. Companies thus start their journey to the cloud at their own pace but benefit straight away from increased agility and room for maneuver.
