In order to deploy this latest technology, the company has enhanced the PC/E Mobile Cash application, which handles cash dispensing reliably and fast.
For the iPhone, Wincor Nixdorf has combined this service in Apple Passbook using Apple passes, while a comparable function has been integrated directly in the Wincor Nixdorf application for Android users.
The ATM reads the QR code, which is stored either in Apple Passbook or Wincor Nixdorf’s PC/E Mobile Cash application, and after confirmation users can withdraw the cash from the machine.
The application will also show the way to the nearest ATM that supports Mobile Cash, if needed, the technology provider said.
Banks will have to make some small changes in their ATMs, which includes implementation of a barcode scanner to the machine to read the QR code.
In order to support this functionality, client software must be installed on the machines, according to the firm.
Wincor Nixdorf assists retail banks and retailers by supplying successful IT solutions designed to optimize their processes at the interface with customers.
