The device was found in an ATM at Box Hill in Melbourne. Westpac decided to block 900 cards following customer complaints of mysterious withdrawals from customers’ accounts. The withdrawals totalled $100,000, affected 75 accounts and have been traced to Toronto, Canada.

The Australian Associated Press cites Westpac spokesman David Lording as saying that over 70% of the bank’s ATMs are equipped with anti-fraud technology, which is now being installed at the Box Hill branch.
