According to Wells Fargo, the Windows infrastructure enables the company to update its network and improve future systems remotely.

The webATM machines feature six language screen options, customizable fast-cash amounts and MyATM receipt preferences. They also provide secure access to financial accounts and large font touch-screens that facilitate navigation from screen to screen. In addition, all of the company’s branches have a Talking WebATM machine, offering voice instructions for the visually impaired in both English and Spanish.

The financial services company said it is the first to install more than 3,000 online stations across its traditional and in-store community banking stores, to allow staff to introduce customers to its web site and internet banking services.

According to Wells Fargo, the introduction of webATMs and online stations is part of its effort to integrate all channels, including stores, phones, ATMs and the internet, in order to provide easy, worldwide access to financial services.

Very few of our customers are single-channel users, explained Jonathan Velline, head of Wells Fargo’s ATM banking. Today more than 51% of our checking accounts are accessed online and our customers are conducting as many transactions at our ATMs as they do with our tellers. He added that the integration of the webATM machines with other channels will enable customers to access information and conduct transactions in their preferred channel.
