The new tool has been designed to assist the bank to automate, streamline and improve its business processes and critical access control to applications and data, as well as enabling it to fulfill its compliance requirements.

With $20bn in assets and 3,000 employees, Webster offers business and consumer banking, mortgage, financial planning, trust and investment services through 168 banking offices, 296 ATMs, and telephone, mobile and Internet banking.

Webster Bank executive vice president, chief information officer Colin Eccles said that implementation of the new technology will enable its customers to bank according to their time and convenience.

"Through our selection of Aveksa, we can rest assured that employee access to mission-critical applications and data is accurate and secure across the enterprise," Eccles added.

The Aveksa platform comprises access certification manager for automatic monitoring, reporting, certification and remediation of user entitlements; business role manager for role discovery, modeling and maintenance.

Additionally, access request manager is to integrate a business-friendly interface and an automated, streamlined request process with policy controls.

It also has data access governance for better visibility, control, and business ownership identification of unstructured data resources, including file shares and Microsoft SharePoint technology.
