Wells Fargo has announced that its fixed income strategic indexing benchmarks formerly operating under the Wachovia Capital Markets name will now operate under the Wells Fargo Securities name.

Reportedly, the change of index names are: Wachovia Hybrid and Preferred Securities Financial Index as Wells Fargo Hybrid and Preferred Securities Financial Index; Wachovia Hybrid and Preferred Securities REIT Index as Wells Fargo Hybrid and Preferred Securities REIT Index; Wachovia High Yield Bond Index as Wells Fargo High Yield Bond Index; Wachovia Global Ex-US Bond Index as Wells Fargo Global Ex-US Bond Index and Wachovia Yield Focused IG Bond Index as Wells Fargo Yield Focused IG Bond Index.

The bank has claimed that the new Wells Fargo Securities brand, which was announced earlier, brings together the firm’s businesses such as debt and equity underwriting, mergers and acquisitions, loan syndications, debt and equity sales and trading, tax-exempt products, research and economics, and certain hedging products such as equity derivatives under one umbrella.
