EEX said this presence in London supports its measures for the further development of trading for power, natural gas, emission allowances and coal and for the field of clearing.

According to the exchange, the tasks of the new members of staff in London will comprise supporting the EEX customers on site, informing the market participants about the products and services of the exchange and winning new participants and groups of participants for trading on the energy markets of EEX.

Recently, Louis Hems, Joanna McMaster and Kahn Kennedy-Smith joined the EEX customer relations team.

Hems heads the Gas & Coal Department, in which McMaster also works. Kennedy-Smith will assume responsibility for supporting the independent system vendors facilitating the trading participants’ technical connection to the exchange systems.

Moreover, Jason LaBrooy will join the EEX teamin the field of OTC clearing in August, said the company.

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) develops, operates and connects secure, liquid and transparent markets. EEX holds 50% of the shares in EPEX Spot SE, which operates the Spot Market for Power for Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland.

EEX Group also includes European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC), the central clearing house for energy and related products in Europe.
