He will report to Matteo Andreetto, co-head of Cash Equities and head of Equity Sales and Matthew Reali, co-head of Cash Equities and head of Cash Equity Execution.
Spano joins UniCredit from Credit Suisse where he was the head of Research in Germany for the last four years.
Prior to this, he was a director with Deutsche Bank’s German Research team, responsible for Pan-European Steel and German Industrial sectors and with ABN where he was a senior member of the team that established a German equity business there.
Spano started his Investment Banking career with Deutsche Bank and later Deutsche Morgan Grenfell.
The Cash Equity business is part of the Corporate & Investment Banking division of UniCredit.
Andreetto said the addition of Pascal Spano underpins is a step further in the strengthening of UniCredit’s Cash Equities sales and trading platform. His strong expertise and extensive customer relationships alongside the recent hirings in the German, European and Emerging team will bring immediate value to the UniCredit Equities franchise.
