Based in Moscow, Petrosius will work closely with Nick Jordan, CEO for Russia and CIS, to lead the development of the UBS franchise in Russia and the CIS.
Petrosius will join UBS from Credit Suisse, where he was co-head of IBD Russia and CEO for Credit Suisse Kazakhstan.
Since joining Credit Suisse in 2000, he has also been a member of the emerging markets coverage team within the fixed income department focusing on structured finance and derivative solutions.
Jordan said Russia is a key, strategic growth market for UBS. Petrosius brings extensive experience in advisory, capital markets, structured products and derivatives in Russia and CIS countries, which will allow the bank to leverage all the strengths of UBS for the benefit of its clients in the region.
