In August 2012, PayPal inked a service provider agreement with Discover for access to participating merchants’ brick and mortar locations through the latter’s technological infrastructure.

PayPal consumers can avail many services stored in their PayPal accounts at a point-of-sale terminal, including access to credit or debit cards, bank accounts, PayPal balances, or Bill Me Later payment methods.

TSYS merchant services segment president Mark Pyke said that PayPal offers merchants and consumers more choices and helps reach new consumers at the point of sale, depending on its payment transaction processing platforms, as well as other value-added products and services.

Discover Payment Services president Diane Offereins added, "By processing PayPal transactions, TSYS is providing an expanded payment option for merchants’ customers, and an overall enhanced payment experience for consumers."

Headquartered in Columbus, Georgia, TSYS delivers services to more than half of the top 20 international banks and supports financial organizations, businesses and governments in over 80 nations across the sphere.
