Davies, who has headed Threadneedle’s European Equities team since 1999, will now focus on expanding the firm’s global equities franchise particularly in international markets.
In his new role, Davies will oversee a team of 10, including fund manager Neil Robson who joined Threadneedle in October 2011 to expand the firm’s global equities capability.
In addition, the company has named Philip Dicken as head of European equities.
Within the European Equities team Dan Ison remains Head of Pan-European and Paul Doyle will become Head of Continental, both reporting to Philip.

Jeremy Podger, former head of global equities at Threadneedle, has left the company.
