In his new role, Brazier will have sole responsibility for leading the firm’s UK equity team, having previously shared the role with Leigh Harrison.

Harrison will continue in his role as overall head of equities at the firm and remain in charge of the firm’s UK Equity Income franchise, which includes the UK Equity Income and UK Equity Alpha Income funds.

In addition to his new responsibility, Brazier will continue to manage the Threadneedle UK fund, which he assumed control of last April.

Threadneedle chief investment officer Mark Burgess said that the promotion was a ‘natural progression’ for Brazier and he is confident the Threadneedle UK investment team will continue to deliver outperformance under his leadership.

"Our UK investment team is one of the strongest in the industry. Our robust product range is supported by good long term performance and clear ambitions for the future," Burgess added.
