Mr Garwood, a community leader who is also chairman of the non-profit Marin Workforce Housing Trust, has served in a variety of senior management positions at the Bank since its inception.
Carolyn Horan, chairman of Epic Bancorp and previous chairman of Tamalpais Bank, will become vice chairman of the bank and remain chairman of the parent corporation. Mr Garwood is also the CEO and President of Epic Bancorp. He was also vice chairman of the bank prior to this promotion.
Ms Horan said: Mark is a very talented banker and executive. As CEO of the bank, he has led the development and expansion for us and, in his new role, he will employ his skills and expertise on an even broader scale.
