Cantillon will oversee a team of 15 covering positions in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. She will replace FitzGerald who assumed an expanded role late last year.
Based in London, Cantillon, will report to FitzGerald, head of sales for State Street’s global services Americas business.
Previously, Cantillon was head of alternative investment managers and a member of the executive committee at BNP Paribas Securities Services in London.
Prior to this position, she held similar sales and relationship management roles with HSBC and JPMorgan in Singapore and London.
FitzGerald said Maria brings an extensive background in business development and relationship management throughout Europe and Asia to this role.
With approximately $770bn in alternative assets under administration as of 31 March 2011, State Street’s Alternative Investment Solutions group provides a complete suite of fund accounting, fund administration, corporate administration, risk and credit services to institutional investors, hedge fund managers, private equity fund managers and real estate fund managers.
