In his new role, Ho will manage the Active Emerging Markets team and lead the development of global macro strategies with the support of SSgA’s Advanced Research Center and other investment teams.
Based in Boston, Ho will report to Alistair Lowe, global CIO for Active Equities.
Ho joins SSgA from Mellon Capital Management where he oversaw all investments as chief investment officer, responsible for approximately $220bn in assets under management.
Earlier in his career, Ho was head of research for Global Tactical Asset Allocation and oversaw hedge funds at Mellon Capital.
Lowe said that Michael’s experience allows them to expand their capabilities in Active Emerging Markets and advance their efforts in building a strong Global Macro strategy.
