With this acquisition, the company will offer a Chip and PIN / PCI SRED certified mobile point of sale (MPOS) service along with its yet to be launched new range of Spire Payments terminals.

Following the completion of the transaction, the acquired enterprise will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Spire Payments UK and be a crucial point for Spire’s strategy on mobile payment technology and products.

Commenting on the deal, Spire Payments president and CEO Kazem Aminaee said along with this acquisition, the company will roll out a new range of terminals to market in 2013, including a product that would address the growing MPOS market.

Established in 1989, Thyron Payments launched an array of payment services technology, including the first contactless integrated GPRS mobile terminal and the PCI 2.0 PINPad with SRED certified encryption.

Spire Payments has offices in Salisbury, UK and Madrid, Spain and it delivers fixed, portable and mobile payment terminals, as well as PIN pads and unattended terminals for integration with cash register systems and self-service kiosks.
