Managing branch offices in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, Sovereign Bank serves 1.7 million retail and commercial clients.

Since 2009, the bank has been operating as a financially autonomous member of the Santander Group, and the recent rebranding marks the first time it will operate as a federally chartered US retail and commercial bank.

Moreover, the bank is planning to launch various enhancements, as part of over $200m three-year initiative, with core focus to improve the overall experience offered to customers.

Under the new plan, over 700 branches will be renovated, including improved space facilitating personalized, one-on-one banking, while enhanced ATMs will also be put in place.

In a bid to address the growing demand to meet a wide range of business and consumer financial needs, a new complete package of financial products and services will also be presented.

Serving 102 million customers, with more than $72bn in market capitalization and a 10.67% core capital ratio, Santander Group’s subsidiaries do business under the unified Santander brand in the UK, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Spain and Portugal.
