The multi-asset and portfolio solutions group is part of the Schroders GBP32.9bn Multi-Asset and Portfolio Solutions business lead by Nico Marais.
The appointment will further strengthen the well-established LDI team, headed up by Andy Connell.
Prior to joining Schroders, Maybury worked at Redington where he was co-head of Asset Liability Management & Investment Strategy.
Before that he was at Citigroup, where he specialised in insurance and pension asset liability management and capital management.
Maybury is also a trustee of several pension schemes.
Connell said that adding Ian to the team underlines Schroders’ commitment to delivering bespoke funding risk management solutions to their clients and will ensure that they maintain the highest levels of client focus as the business continues to grow.
