Ashford has more than 30 years of banking experience spanning across private, corporate and trust intermediary banking. Prior to Sarasin-Alpen, he was with EFG Private Bank in Abu Dhabi. Before that, he has worked in different roles within the Barclays Group for more than 25 years. Ashford has a multi-jurisdictional experience in UK, Jersey and Abu Dhabi.

Bank Sarasin-Alpen Group Middle East and India executive vice chairman and CEO Rohit Walia said that the Middle East is a key growth market for the Sarasin Group and Neil’s expertise and unparalleled experience will be invaluable for growing the business.

The Sarasin Group launched its Abu Dhabi operations in October 2010, adding to its presence in Bahrain, Dubai, Doha and Muscat, in order to strengthen its presence in the Middle East.

The new entity, Bank Sarasin-Alpen (ME) Abu Dhabi (representative office), was granted its licence by the Central Bank of UAE and introduces private banking clients to the comprehensive range of wealth management services of the Sarasin Group.
