In his new role, he will responsible to spearhead all aspects of operations such as IT and change, distribution and customer service.
Re-locating to Edinburgh from Bristol, he will report to the Sainsbury’s Bank chief executive officer Peter Griffiths.
Commenting on the appointment, Griffiths said, "We believe his experience will be an asset to the bank as we enter this next chapter of our growth."
Prior to accepting the position of COO, Steve was serving as executive director and chief operating officer of Diligenta, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services.
During his tenure with Diligenta, he established its operational strategy including the creation of an outsourcing utility model and IT transformation programs.
Before this, he worked with Friends Life and Axa Life for more than twenty years in operational roles where he managed IT and change as well as customer service divisions.
Set up in 1997, Sainsbury’s Bank offers an array of quality products such as insurances, credit cards, savings and loans, among others.
