In his role, Persaud will lead the strategic development and delivery of investment consulting services for Russell’s clients in the region, encompassing investment advisory, asset allocation, strategic asset tilting, risk management and portfolio construction.
Based in Singapore, Persaud will report to Mahendran Nathan, chief executive ASEAN, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India.
Persaud has over 17 years of experience in investment oversight and monitoring. Prior to Russell, he worked with Prudential Asset Management in Singapore where he was head of investment risk oversight and performance. He also held senior positions with Insight Investments, Schroders and MSCI.
Nathan said that against a global backdrop of greater market volatility and tightening regulatory oversight, Asian institutions are realising the importance of remaining abreast of global best practices or they risk falling short of expectations.
Russell Investments global head of consulting and advisory services Janine Baldridge said that increasingly, Asian clients are looking for consulting and investment advisory services that are flexible and backed by a deep pool of intellectual resources.
"Trevor will play a pivotal role in the continued growth of the global consulting business, including assisting clients with innovative and tailored solutions in Asia," Baldridge said.
