The total revenue for the fourth quarter of 2011 was C$6.8bn, compared to C$6.78bn for the same period a year ago.

Canadian Banking net income was C$904m, up 18%, from last year, primarily reflecting volume growth in home equity products, personal and business deposits, business loans, and lower provision for credit losses.

Wealth Management net income was C$189m, up 8%, compared to the corresponding period a year ago.

RBC president and CEO Gord Nixon said that the bank delivered strong earnings from continuing operations of over $1.6 billion in the fourth quarter driven primarily by earnings in Canadian Banking, Wealth Management and Insurance and results in corporate and investment banking.
