Mr Harman will ensure that retail structuring works in partnership with all asset class specialist teams within global structuring to develop multi asset structured investment products appropriate for direct retail and the retail distributor client base.
Prior to joining RBS, he spent 9 years at Citigroup where he was based initially in Hong Kong and then most recently in Tokyo. While at Citigroup, he was responsible for global hybrid solutions which was a multi asset class structured products business covering both asset (including equities, constant proportion portfolio insurance (CPPIs), hedge / commodity trading advisor (CTA) funds, hedge fund replication, rule based strategies and internally developed structured funds) and liability trades (including variable annuities).
In his Hong Kong role, Mr Harman was a director in equity derivatives and was responsible for structured investment product idea generation including structured mutual funds. Before joining Citigroup he spent 8 years at the Jardine Fleming Group.
