Scheduled for installations in August this year, the delivery marks OKI’s first batch of cash-recycling ATM in Southeast Asia.
BCA managing director Armand W. Hartono said that in order to proactively introduce automated equipment and innovative technologies, the bank conducted a pilot project of OKI’s ATM-Recycler G7 from May to December 2012.
"We were pleased with its high-reliability and future expandability to recycling functions, leading to installation of these units," Hartono added.
OKI’s Systems Hardware Business Division senior vice president and general manager Shinya Kamagami said a single ATM-Recycler G7 handles 128 banknote denominations of multiple currencies and uses deposited banknotes for withdrawals.
Its cash-recycling function helps to reduce banknote management and operational costs compared to cash dispensers and non-cash-recycling ATMs, Kamagami added.
Currently, BCA operates nearly 10,000 units of ATMs and cash dispensers (CD) and intends to enhance services through various channels including the Internet and mobile.
Installation of ATMs and CDs in Indonesia had reached 50,000 units in 2011, and is expected to continue expanding to 80,000 units by 2015.
