BNP Paribas has appointed Guido Van Hauwermeiren as head of international coverage (outside Europe). He joins the BNP Paribas corporate & investment banking (CIB) executive committee. Based in Paris, he will report to Alain Papiasse, head of BNP Paribas CIB.
BNP Paribas CIB’s coverage activities manage strategic client relationships with large corporations and institutional clients, for which it develops close and customised support.
Mr Hauwermeiren joined the BNP Paribas group in 2006, initially holding the position of director of the Eurasia-North Africa Region at Cetelem, before being appointed co-head of emerging markets at BNP Paribas retail banking in 2007.
Mr. Papiasse said: “Mr Hauwermeiren adds considerable value to BNP Paribas CIB, thanks to his international career in the banking industry and his extensive experience within BNP Paribas’ retail banking division.”
