OANDA Asia Pacific, the Singapore-based forex trader, has expanded to accommodate growing demand in the region, adding key personnel in the areas of sales, customer support, compliance and technical support.

Recent hires include Judy Goh, who joins from Deutsche Bank client coverage group for customer support, Solvej Rendtorff, who joins from Saxo Capital Markets as institutional product specialist and Vanda Phua from VTB Capital for regional compliance.

The hires not only widen the breadth of service provided to the Asian client base to now provide Japanese support, but also further strengthens the company’s operational processes, keeping these in line with regulations. In addition, OANDA has now established Asian zone technical operations for the first time, ensuring that production systems are supported round the clock. Technical support in Asia comes in the form of Kerry Kock who joins from LSI Logic in Hong Kong.

K Duker, MD, said: “Against the norm, in a year that has seen general contraction in the region, we have expanded to meet the demands of bringing alternative liquidity to the Asia Pacific. This growth underscores our commitment to our customers here, especially in light of our recently widened clientele scope. As we enter into our second year of operation, we are well-positioned to meet the growing demands of the region for open, fair and low cost foreign exchange trading.”
