NYSE Euronext adds Luís Palha da Silva to its board of directors

Silva has worked as CEO and CFO of Jerónimo Martins, SGPS, SA and former Portuguese Secretary of State for Trade.

Euronext chairman Jan-Michiel Hessels said, "Luís’ exceptional experience across the corporate, government and regulatory sectors gives him a broad and deep understanding of corporate governance and the role of vibrant, transparent capital markets in global economic growth."

In 2001, Silva joined Jerónimo Martins as CFO, and later worked as the company’s CEO and CFO from 2004-2010.

Prior to Martins, he served as a head of strategic planning and later CFO at CIMPOR – Cimentos de Portugal from 1995-2001.
