According to the US firm, NYSE MKT’s associated options market will continue to do business under the name NYSE Amex Options.
NYSE Euronex evp and co-head of US listings and cash execution Scott Cutler said that NYSE MKT is a fully integrated trading venue within the NYSE Euronext community and the new name reinforces that fact.
"The venue is dedicated to growth-oriented companies in the U.S., and we continue to enhance the platform to best meet the needs of these clients," Cutler said.
The indices including NYSE Amex Composite Index, NYSE Amex Composite – Financial Subsector Index, NYSE MKT Composite – Financial Subsector Index, NYSE Amex Composite – Healthcare Subsector Index, NYSE Amex Composite – Industrial Subsector Index, NYSE Amex Composite – Technology Subsector Index and NYSE Amex Composite – Natural Resources Subsector Index will replace the term ‘Amex’ with MKT in the same place and order, as they were in the original names.
Commenting on the renaming issue, IEC Electronics Corp chairman and CEO said that their relationship with NYSE Euronext as an NYSE MKT-listed company has been truly valuable to their business and their shareholders.
"This name change makes it even more apparent that we are a part of the world’s leading exchange group," Gilbert added.
NYSE Euronext’s exchanges in Europe and the US offers trade equities, futures, options, fixed-income and exchange-traded products.
