In his new role, based in Singapore, Chen will focus on business development for NTGI in South East Asian countries. He will report to Fifi Ting, head of Sales and Client Services in Asia Pacific ex-Japan for NTGI.

As a senior sales executive, Chen will build NTGI’s presence and position Northern Trust’s capabilities to large sophisticated institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, national pension funds and government entities.

Chen will join Northern Trust from Martin Currie, where he was the business development director responsible for establishing the investment management firm’s office in Singapore.

Chen has over 12 years of experience in the asset management industry. In addition to his post at Martin Currie, he has held management positions at Vanguard and Watson Wyatt.

NTGI Asia Pacific senior vice president and regional executive Kevin Hardy said that the company looking forward to building on NTGI’s growth in Asia Pacific as Ee Fang brings investment solutions leveraging the core capabilities in global index, active fixed income and manager-of-managers strategies to a new group of large, sophisticated investors in South East Asia.
