Novelli will become a member of the investment banking executive committee and will report to William Vereker and Hiroyuki Suzuki, joint heads of Investment Banking, who are based in London and Tokyo, respectively.
Novelli has more than over 20 years of M&A experience. Most recently Novelli was at UBS as a managing director and global head of M&A. Previous to this, he was at Merrill Lynch for 12 years and was head of European M&A.
Vereker said Piero is a world class addition to the team who will bring significant experience to the business. His appointment reinforces the commitment to building a leading global M&A franchise.
Suzuki said the we look forward to working closely with him to significantly enhance Nomura’s M&A footprint.
