According to the publication, National Australia Bank (NAB) will get rid of the A$25 over-limit exemption fee it charges on its credit cards used by customers with an NAB concession card account, effective as of November 2007. Furthermore, the bank will remove the ability to overdraw the card on purchases made electronically.

The publication also revealed that NAB has plans to launch four new accounts, which will not charge monthly service fees if A$2,500 is credited into the account every month. The accounts include the NAB Clear Banking account, which will waive a A$6 monthly service fee on monthly deposits of A$3,500 or more and will not carry any exception fees.

In addition, the bank reportedly said that it will reduce dishonor fees from A$50 to A$30, lower the periodical non-payment fee from A$35 to A$30 and ditch the A$12 inward dishonor fee on credit cards.

As cited in The Sydney Morning Herald, Ahmed Fahour, the chief executive of NAB's Australian operations, revealed that the bank recognizes that this move may result in lower revenues, but added that it believes that this may be countered by winning the business of new customers through the new deals.
