Reporting to Mark Dwyer, managing director and head of EMEA for Mellon Transition Management, Bewick’s role will be to aid understanding among pension trustees in the UK and Ireland of the real cost of moving assets and managing the risk of a transition.

Bewick has more than 26 years experience working in financial services, including 13 working for HSBC and the latter 13 years being devoted to the UK and Irish pension fund market through his various sales and relationship management roles at RBS Trust Bank and BNY Mellon Asset Servicing.

He concluded his time with BNY Mellon Asset Servicing as head of UK and Ireland Pension Fund Relationship Management.

Dwyer said in order to build on their service proposition to clients, they recognized the need for a specialist who not only understood the requirements of the UK pension fund market, including regulation and the reporting cycle, but was also able to offer clarity and peace of mind to pension trustees looking to make adjustments to their investment portfolios.

"Mark’s experience in building proactive consultative relationships with pension fund clients means he is well placed to meet both these requirements. Having worked very closely with Mark in the past, I am confident this appointment is a natural progression into the asset management arena," Dwyer concluded.
