MasterCard said that as group head of marketing, Jalandoni will be responsible to ensure that the company’s brand positioning is executed effectively, and will translate the implementation of global strategies across APMEA.

Jalandoni will also be responsible for regional management of marketing teams and is tasked with developing strategies and tactics to accommodate local market opportunities.

Jalandoni has close to 14 years in the financial sector and 12 years of consumer marketing expertise. She was most recently in the financial industry, where a large part of her focus was on the payments card business.

Prior to joining MasterCard, she was the managing director at Barclaycard based in the UAE. Before her time at Barclays Bank, she was country chief executive and consumer clients head of ABN-AMRO Bank in Hong Kong.

Before ABN-AMRO Bank, she was at Citibank in Hong Kong and the Philippines holding several senior positions in the cards division during her tenure.

MasterCard Worldwide chief marketing officer Alfredo Gangotena said they are delighted to have Maripi on board. She offers years of consumer marketing and brand management experience along with an in-depth knowledge of the payments industry and a clear understanding of the diversity and potential of the region.
