Introduced in association with Standard Chartered Bank Singapore and manufactured by NagraID Security, the card has built-in display and touch-sensitive buttons, which allow cardholders to generate a one-time password (OTP) as an authentication security measure.
The device, which integrates the functionality of a standard payment card with a modern security token, is quite similar to a regular credit, debit or ATM card.
The company has plans to offer more features to the card users, including showing other real time information such as available credit balance, loyalty or reward points, recent transactions, and other interactive information.
The card will be available from January 2013 to all Standard Chartered Online Banking or Breeze Mobile Banking users.
All MasterCard Platinum and Bonus$aver credit cards as well as Super Salary, XtraSaver, Bonus$aver debit cards issued in Singapore will now be Display cards, according to the company.
