MasterCard US Markets emerging payments lead group head Mario Shiliashki was quoted by Internetretailer as saying that increasingly consumers are looking for a great deal and savings-whether that is in paper coupons or through digital channels that create a more enhanced holistic shopping experience.

"Our collaboration with partners like Local Offer Network will make MasterCard the ‘go-to’ offers solution for merchants and issuers looking for a stronger connection with our cardholders, Shiliashki said.

The new services will help banks and merchants to deliver targeted deal offers to consumers, thus assisting them to broaden their business base, said MasterCard.

The services is expected to be introduced in the second quarter of this year and will deliver "relevant and geo-targeted offers, claims the card company.

Local Offer Network markets advertising and technology services to group-buying sites and also combined online daily deals for consumers.
