In this role, Hefner will be responsible for heading Macquarie’s ratings advisory business.
Hefner, who will join from Moody’s Investors Service where he was head of US Issuer Relations, is a career credit rating and debt capital professional.
Prior to Moody’s, he held roles at Wachovia Securities where he was head of credit ratings advisory, GE Asset Management where he was a fixed income portfolio risk manager and Morgan Stanley where he held a number of roles including head of Latin America and head of Asia Pacific for their credit and ratings advisory group.
Macquarie Capital vice chairman and US head of corporate finance Rob Redmond said that bringing specialist ratings advisory capability will help Macquarie ensure that it addresses a wider range of needs across an increasingly diverse client base and Greg’s debt capital structure expertise ensures the firm address this need. He will provide the advisory business with additional origination capability and deep credit experience.
