LCN.com, a domain registration and web hosting company, has launched a new email security and protection system MailGuard. This anti-spam and virus protection application will be added to all new LCN.com hosting packages at no cost.

Customers to access and customise their spam threshold settings and apply new permissions from within their LCN.com account control panel, reducing spam and viruses from reaching their inbox, the company said.

According to LCN.com, the new application scans all incoming email sent to a users account. Emails which have been identified as spam or containing viruses remain in a quarantined area for 30 days. It allows users to access and view captured emails through a secure area online. Emails which have not been flagged as spam or containing any viruses are passed to the users account.

Mark Boost, managing director of LCN.com, said: “Email spam is a frustrating and distracting occurrence that has a considerable impact on productivity within the office. MailGuard vastly reduces the amount of spam you receive, letting you focus your attention on the emails you want, and giving you back the time you used to spend sorting through spam yourself.
