Kingfisher Capital, a North Carolina-based independent, SEC registered investment adviser for individuals and institutions, has purchased the assets of the Charlotte, North Carolina office of WealthTrust Advisors. It says that the Kingfisher Capital is focused entirely on building investment portfolios internally from the bottom up.
Kingfisher Capital has retained key employees of the Charlotte office in the transaction including Senior Research Analyst, Brian Smyth, Director of Business Development, William Grasty, Operations Manager and Head Trader, Virginia “Ginny” Starnes, and Client Services Manager, Carol Layton.
Alex Miles, Chief Investment Officer, Kingfisher Capital, said: “Kingfisher Capital will continue to offer a range of investment management services with a particular focus on value-oriented and opportunistic equity strategies and bespoke income portfolios.”
Deal advisors for Kingfisher Capital included Stephan Willen and Blaine Sanders of Robinson, Bradshaw and Hinson.
