JPMorgan has appointed Rohit Chatterji as head of its Asian debt capital markets team. Mr. Chatterji is currently the head of Southeast Asia corporate finance. He will relocate to Hong Kong from Singapore and report to Todd Marin, head of Asia-Pacific investment banking – reported Reuters.

He will be responsible for developing the firm’s debt capital markets business in emerging Asia. He played a crucial role in establishing the bank’s corporate finance and M&A business in Southeast Asia over the past five years, quoted the newspaper.

In a written statement, Mr. Marin said: Creative structuring and corporate finance-based solutions are critical components in providing attractive debt financing for our Asian clients. Rohit’s broad experience underpins this solutions-based approach and will accelerate the progress we’ve made in building our DCM franchise in Asia, reported FinanceAsia.

Mr. Chatterji’s earlier position will be taken over by two Singapore-based executive directors, Daniel Kleijn and Hong Ping Yeo. These senior management changes in Asia takes place exactly a week after the bank had announced robust results for Q2, 2009, exceeding analysts forecasts.
