In addition, five other investment bankers will join the metals and mining investment banking group, including Richard Allan, who will joins as a managing director and European head of metals and mining investment banking.

Bacchus and Allan and other new members of the metals and mining investment banking group will be based in the firm’s London office.

In his role, Bacchus will partner with Dominic Lester, joint head of European investment banking and European head of technology and telecommunications investment banking.

Bacchus will join Jefferies with 20 years of investment banking experience from Morgan Stanley, where he was a managing director and global head of metals and mining investment banking.

Previously, Bacchus served as a managing director at Citigroup where he was head of Asia-Pacific industrials investment banking and co-head of global metals and mining investment banking based in Sydney, Jakarta and London.

Allan will join Jefferies with more than 13 years of metals and mining investment banking experience, and from Morgan Stanley where he was a managing director in the metals and mining investment banking group.
