Jefferies said its fixed income business now has nearly 525 professionals globally who are focused on the sales, trading and origination of investment grade and high yield bonds, US and European government and agency securities, repo finance, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, municipal bonds, whole loans, leveraged loans, distressed securities and emerging markets debt.

Jefferies’ International Credit Business co-head Jon Pliner said that Frank’s addition is part of the ongoing enhancement of its fixed income platform and is demonstrative of Jefferies’ commitment to providing institutional clients with best-in-class fixed income product, strategy and trading on a global basis.

"As we bring together our European Credit, Emerging Markets and Asian Credit businesses, Frank will play a key role spearheading our distribution effort for this exciting growth area," Pliner said.

Cerveny brings to Jefferies 25 years of experience and will join the firm from Credit Suisse, where he spent nearly 20 years and was a managing director and a former head of credit sales.
