Murphy will bring over 20 years of experience and will join Jefferies from Morgan Stanley, where he spent 17 years and was most recently an executive director in fixed income sales and trading.

Previously, he worked in fixed income sales at Dillon Read & Co. and Wertheim Schroeder and traded municipal bonds at Citigroup.

Presently, Jefferies fixed income has approximately 525 professionals globally who are focused on the sales and trading of investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds, government and agency securities, repo finance, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, municipal bonds, whole loans, leveraged loans, distressed securities and emerging markets debt.
