Reporting to ANZ CEO Mike Smith, Géczy will oversee the business from Melbourne and also be a member of the ANZ management board.

With 25 years experience in wholesale banking, markets and asset management, Géczy served as a senior executive between 2009 and 2013 at Lloyds Banking Group where he acted as CEO of wholesale banking and markets.

While working with the UK financial institution, he managed corporate and institutional banking, sales and trading, capital markets, structured corporate finance, transaction banking, and portfolio management.

Prior to joining Lloyds Banking Group, he worked with the specialist investment advisory and asset management company, Manresa Partners, which he formed in 2005 with offices in London, New York, Hong Kong, and Dublin.

Earlier Géczy was working with Citigroup, where he held various management positions in Corporate and Institutional Banking between 1991 and 2005.

From 2001, he served as global head of structured corporate finance with responsibilities covering more than 80 nations, including a significant growth business in Asia.

He has also served as a member of Citigroup’s global fixed income management committee, the global banking operating committee, and board member of Citigroup Europe and other Citigroup affiliates.
