As part of the acquisition, about 50 employees will join Jefferies’s London office, including all of Hoare Govett’s corporate broking team and managing directors.
The combined business will operate as Jefferies Hoare Govett.
Jefferies International president David Weaver said that Hoare Govett is one of the oldest and most distinguished franchises in corporate broking. Joining forces affirms Jefferies’ deep and long-term commitment to serving UK corporate clients.
RBS Group Finance Director Bruce Saun said that the transaction will ensure continuity of service to their corporate broking clients.
The transaction is expected to complete by the end of the first quarter of 2012.
