ING US Investment selects new managing director, institutional distribution head

Reporting to Shaun Mathews, executive vice president and head of the client group, he will also oversee consultant relations, RFPs, client service and relationship management.

Commenting on the appointment, Mathews said, "He has in-depth knowledge of our investment strategies and investment platforms and also a strong perspective on the retirement and overall institutional investment industry."

Having served ING for 13 years, NieuweWeme was most recently serving as senior vice president and head of institutional sales with ING US investment management.

He also held various domestic and global marketing and sales positions for ING. Before joining ING, he worked for the tax consultancy group at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

ING US Investment Management operates as a subsidiary of ING US, and has nearly $190bn of assets under management.
