Garner was appointed as head of UK operations and as deputy chief executive of the bank’s global retail and commercial business in December 2010. He has been serving HSBC for the past eight years.

Garner also acts as a part of the Financial Services Practitioner Panel, an industry group dealing with challenges and works with industry watchdog the Financial Services Authority.
