Milne, who was most recently working as HSBC country manager for Japan, will take place of Stuart Davis who is moving to a new position within the organization, according to Reuters.
Milne was joined the bank is 1981, and since then he worked with HSBC’s businesses in Europe, the Middle East, the US and Asia.
HSBC has earlier revealed plans to expand its operations in Asia’s third-largest economy as it continues with job and cost cuts in other parts of the world.
