In her newly created role, Reyes will be based in New York and starts in September 2011, reporting to John Coverdale, group general manager and head of Global Transaction Banking.

Reyes has over 30 years of financial services experience and comes from Citi which she joined in 2000. She ran Sales for Treasury & Trade Services, and then became global head of GTS Power, Energy, Chemicals, Metals & Mining.

Since 2009 she has been global head of Payments for Global Transaction Services (GTS). In this role, she was responsible for Citi’s Global Payments business in over 100 countries.

Coverdale said this important appointment to the HSBC Global Transaction Banking senior leadership team underlines HSBC’s continued commitment to investing in its Payments and Cash Management business.

"This is part of our wider Global Transaction Banking strategy which supports our global Corporate and Financial Institutional customer base," Coverdale added.
