In his new role, Gaines will be responsible for working with RIAs, Bank Trust, Private Bank and Family Offices on the East Coast.
Based in Boston, Gaines will report to Damion Hendrickson, senior vice president and head of RIA Sales for the US at HSBC Global Asset Management.
Gaines brings with him 14 years of financial services experience, primarily working with the RIA market through sales, analysis and relationship building and was most recently with MFS Investment Management.
Hendrickson said that Gaines is a key addition as the company further develops its sales effort.
"His experience with the investment advisor community, as well as his in-depth knowledge of investment strategies is a powerful combination," Hendrickson said.
HSBC Global Asset Management manages assets totaling $398bn and has a worldwide client base of private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds.
