Henriques will take over the responsibilities of Steven Hayworth, who has left the company.
In February 2011, Henriques joined the bank as vice chairman, president and chief operating officer of the Coral Gables based company.
Before assuming responsibilities at Gibraltar Private, Henriques had worked as vice chairman of the Related Group and chairman, president and CEO of Florida East Coast Industries.
He has also served as chairman of Nations Bank for South Florida and CEO of the South Region for Regions Bank.
